of the ceremonies of the
day was the raising of the flag at the Battery and in Central Park. Judson
Kilpatrick Post, G.A.R., performed the duty at sunrise at the Block House in
the Park, and Christopher R. Forbes, great-grandson of Sergt. Van Arsdale of
the Revolutionary Army, raised the flag at the Battery in the morning. Capt.
