Solomon Berliner mustered in as a Private and mustered out as a Private.
His "Obituary Notes" in The New York Times (Thursday 19 September 1918, p. 13) reads;
SOLOMON BERLINER, a veteran of the civil war and at one time connected with the police force in the Phillipines, died
on Tuesday. During the war he was a member of the Anderson Zouaves of the 62d New York Volunteers.
He is buried at Cypress Hill National Cemetery in Brooklyn NY, plot no. 7814.
