The Hartford Daily Courant (18 May 1864 p.2) states that;

First Lieut. John Cummings, Co. H, Sixty-second New York Volunteers, one of the skedaddling officers from the front, has been arrested and sent to the Old Capital Prison. Some thirty or forty have been sent there within the last three or four days. They will all be court-martialed.

This may be the same individual that appears in the CWSS data and in John Tierney's Roster as Second Lieutenant John T. Cuming (Cumming), Co. D.
