Albert S. Gove. Co. H. Corporal

Albert S. Gove enlisted as a Private in the 62d NYSV in New York. He was one of three, (possibly four) Easthampton men to enlist in the Anderson Zouaves. P.W. Lyman states that Salmon H. Lyman, Albert S. Gove and Richard Goodsell (see entries for Goodsell and Lyman in this section) all enlisted in Co. H.

P.W. Lyman states is his book, History of Easthampton that Albert S. Gove enlisted for three years and served in “many, if not all” of the battles of the Army of the Potomac, without a wound. During his service he was engaged in deatched service at General Wheaton’s HQ. He mustered out as a Corporal.
