Lieut.-Col.
Hamilton, son of Dr Frank Hamilton of New-York, distinguished himself by the
gallant manner in which he led the Sixty-second New-York, in the absence of its
Colonel… The Sixteenth
and One hundred and Twenty-first New-York, have suffered very severely ; in
fact both the First and second Brigades of Gen Brooks' division are badly cut
up. The Sixty-second New-York has lost heavily in both officers and men. New York Times,
