Con.
Rogers's Work on Pensions Congressman Rogers has
introduced a bill to pension Mary A. Samuels of Clinton Street, Buffalo, widow
of Lewis Samuels, late Lieutenant in the Sixty second New-York Volunteers. Gen.
Rogers says that if the the G. A. R. would appoint a competent surgeon to
examine all applicants for pensions, who claim that they have been unjustly
dealt with at the hands of the Government surgeon, he would have a much greater
chance to obtain favorable action from Congress in cases where the applicants
have been rejected by the pension authorities. Sunday
